Day 1: Gather in Lanzhou

Arrive in Lanzhou City and check into your hotel to kick off your journey.

Do not miss a bowl of authentic, world-famous Lanzhou Beef Noodles.

If you arrive early, take a relaxing stroll down to the Yellow River Iron Bridge to sip local beer and admire the roaring river night views.

Day 2: Lanzhou City — Yongjing County — Linxia City

Trek from the upper to lower temple through the Yellow River Stone Forest to worship the 1,500-year-old Bingling Temple Grottoes, first carved in 420 AD during the Western Qin Dynasty.

Afterward, travel to Linxia City, a Han-Tibetan border hub known as the "Western Dry Port," where you can optionally explore the historic Eight Blocks and Thirteen Alleys (Bafang Shisanhang).

Day 3: Linxia City — Xiahe County — Tongren County

Tour the magnificent Labrang Monastery, renowned globally as the "World Tibetan Academy."

In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic 5km light trek through the Ganjia Grassland to explore the Western Xia-built Bajiao Ancient City and the mysterious Baishiya ruins, hopefully catching a spectacular ancient castle sunset before resting in Tongren.

Day 4: Tongren County

Visit the quiet and pure Longwu Temple in the morning, a Yuan-dynasty sanctuary ranking as the third-largest monastery in the Amdo Tibetan region.

In the afternoon, dive into the surrounding traditional villages to experience the grand scale and raw, mysterious charm of the annual June Festival (Liuyuehui) folk celebrations.

Day 5: Tongren County

Explore Wutun Village to admire the exquisite thangkas at Wutun Upper Monastery and the unique architecture of Wutun Lower Monastery, followed by an authentic lunch at a local home.

Spend your afternoon immersed in more June Festival festivities, with an optional evening soak in a traditional Tibetan Hot Spring.

Day 6: Tongren County — Jianzha County — Xining City

Marvel at Jingangya Temple perched on the Luoduojiezha cliffs in Jianzha, capturing panoramic views of the yellow cliffs and clear waters across the Hehuang Valley.

Next, tour the spectacular Ming-dynasty murals at Qutan Temple, known as the "Little Palace," before concluding your journey in Xining City.

Day 7: Xining City — Departure

Enjoy your flexible morning schedule in the city according to your travel plans before departing from Xining City to conclude this epic Amdo cultural journey.
