Our spring tea journey to Huizhou has come to a beautiful close. Returning home with the refreshing scent of the tea mountains and the stunning beauty of the lakes, I cannot help but look back and reminisce. It turns out that the fleeting magic of spring can truly be captured and felt in such a tangible way.
Early Saturday morning, we headed straight to Houkeng Village, the absolute core production area of Taiping Houkui tea. The moment we stepped off the bus, we were completely wrapped in endless layers of tender green hills. Every time the wind blew, the air was filled with the crisp, clean fragrance of fresh tea trees.

Bathed in the soft morning light, we strolled through the ecological tea plantations, touching the vibrant leaves of the large-leaf tea trees up close. We watched the local farmers’ fingers fly across the bushes. It was incredible to witness raw, freshly picked leaves transform into orchid-scented Taiping Houkui tea under the hands of seasoned master artisans.
Taking a sip of the freshly roasted new tea, a crisp, sweet aftertaste rushed straight to the soul. For me, this is the truest, most healing flavor that spring has to offer.

Our local farmhouse lunch was packed with authentic regional flavors, offering a real taste of Anhui’s local warmth and daily life. Well-fed and full of energy, we boarded a small boat to cruise across the rippling waters of Taiping Lake, heading toward a peaceful encounter with Shuguang Village.
There was absolutely none of the city’s chaotic noise here—only the vast, shimmering blue water and charming, scattered traditional villages. We climbed up to the highest observation deck to look out at Huangjin Island, taking in the grand harmony of the lakes and mountains all at once.

I feel incredibly lucky that this journey brought together a wonderful group of travelers who deeply love life and nature. Together, we hunted for the finest tea, admired the serene lakes, and embraced the very best of the season. These shared memories are beautiful enough to keep us warm for a very long time.
I am already looking forward to our next encounter. Let’s head out together again soon to unlock even more hidden, untouched, and deeply healing landscapes.
